About Us

Formed in the Bay Area in 2010, Candy Acid is site-specific, ambient-electronic duo Gretchen Jude (Roland SP404 processing) and Lona Kozik (toy electric violin). Candy Acid aims to make low-tech, portable electronic music that both infiltrates and responds to shared human-natural acoustic environments.

Gretchen Jude and Lona Kozik met while studying electronic music and improvisation at Mills College. They formed the electronic ambient improv duo Candy Acid as part of an experiment in site-specific public performance on the Mills College campus. Pretty soon, they were eager to interface with the city, so they took their project to BART stations throughout the Bay. They continue to develop their ideas from separate continents.
